Algeria expels journalists for FIS coverage
The Algerian government has ordered two journalists to leave the country following a TV broadcast showing the release of two leaders of the Islamic Salvation Front.
“The Algerian authorities did not appreciate our broadcasting images on the liberation on Wednesday evening” of FIS leaders Abassi Madani and Ali Belhadj, one of the journalists said.“The authorities have asked us to leave so as to avoid giving too much publicity to Belhadj,” he added.
