Columbian journalist killed
A columbian radio journalist has been murdered, possibly by FARC rebels. Police say they have no suspects.
Juan Emeterio Rivas, known for his controversial programs on a
station in the town of Barrancabermeja that closed earlier this year, had received threats from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, two years ago. But police said they didn’t have any suspects in the case.[...]
Rivas’ body and that of an environmental engineering student were discovered in a rural area outside Barrancabermeja. Leftist rebels
and right-wing militias are fighting for control of the city, 265 kilometers (165 miles) north of Bogota. – AP, Journalists killed in Colombia.
