Lesley McCulloch released from Aceh prison

British academic Lesley McCulloch has been released from prison in Indonesia. She was charged in October along with American Joy Sadler for violating her visa by providing medical assistance in Aceh. She says Aceh prison staff treated her much better than Indonesian police, reinforcing the notion that her arrest was politically motivated.

Ms McCulloch has spent the last five months in prison. She and her American travelling companion were arrested last September in Aceh
for violating their visas. The 40-year-old British national is studying conflict in Asia. Ms McCulloch says she is very happy to be free and prison staff treated her well compared with the police who arrested her.
