UK journalists in Bangladesh denied access to lawyers
According to the BBC, the two journalists held in Bangladesh on suspicion of sedition have been denied access to their lawyers, and may not be receiving regular food or water. It appears the two have not yet been charged.
The defence team for the two Channel 4 journalists is making two key arguments in Dhaka’s High Court. They are demanding the right to consult with their clients, which they say has so far been denied despite an earlier court ruling in their favour.
They are also asking the court to guarantee that the two journalists will be looked after properly while in custody and provided with regular food and water.
